It was pouring rain, getting dark outside and there was a disastrous Canucks hockey game on TV that was making everyone grumpy. But Meg was game to go outside for a few minutes and it was so worth it. We even managed to tear Al away from the game for a few minutes. So glad we were able to make these happen!

At the end of your pregnancy, when you are feeling huge and tired and kind of gross (which Meg most certainly didn’t…she looked amazing as you can see below! but I know she felt that way), the last think you want is pictures. but TRUST ME. it’s worth it (plus I have more than a few tricks up my sleeve to make you look extra beautiful. Just ask my clients and they’ll tell you!). Because once that little one makes his or her appearance you will quickly forget all the aches and pains of pregnancy, and you will probably miss the amazing feeling of little kicks and squirms. The beautiful miracle of pregnancy can quickly vanish with the even more awe inspiring miracle of a brand new baby. Some nights at 3AM, you might even kind of wish you could put that little one who won’t stop crying back into your tummy. haha. I’m only kind of kidding :) But, to have even a few pictures to document this special time is pretty cool and a decision you won’t regret.

I added a little vintage-loving to these images. They suited the rainy, green, west-coast feel of our backyard and it definitely fits Al & Meg’s personalities too.

And a final little note….I get a lot of visitors to this blog. Love that people stop by and check out my little corner of the web. I don’t normally share a lot of personal stuff here on this blog, but she needs lots of prayers and support right now. She’s been suffering from colitis for the past year or so, and the last few months have been extremely challenging. She’s been in the hospital for three weeks as the doctors have tried different treatments and medications, but unfortunately these efforts have met with little success. So today she will be having surgery. Needless to say, we are all terribly worried, and have been praying non-stop.

Please say some prayers for her, and keep her and her husband Anthony in your thoughts today. Specifically that the surgery goes well and that recovery goes smoothly so she can feel better and go home soon. And any encouraging messages that you might want to leave here I am sure will be greatly appreciated by Katy. Thank you!

Seeing as this little girl will be turning two in just a few weeks, I decided it was time to share these images from her one year portrait session. She is full of spunk (just like her mama!) and I was cracking up at all the different facial expressions, that I had to share a series of them. She is just too funny and so cute! And Susan, her mom, had the very best old fashioned pram that we plopped Ali in for a few shots.I am seriously coveting that pram, is it not fabulous? And….those baby rolls. How can you not smile seeing those? :)
