Rachel Ludwig Photography | Abbotsford Portrait and Wedding Photographer bio picture

Welcome to Rachel Ludwig Photography!

Come on in, grab a cup of coffee (or in my case, that would be a non-fat, sugar-free vanilla, earl grey tea misto) and take a browse through my site. This is where I share images from recent sessions, post updates about Rachel Ludwig Photography, and sometimes I even sneak in a few pictures of my own family.

Want to know a little bit more about me? I've been married to my husband Tim for 11 years, and we have three loud, crazy and fun kids: Ethan (7), Arden (3) and Hudson (1). I also love to take pictures. I'm a lifestyle portrait and wedding photographer based in Abbotsford, BC and I photograph a little bit of everything, including babies, bellies, families, engagements, boudoir and weddings.

Oh....and don't be shy! You can leave a comment, pop me an email or use the contact form at any time. I promise I don't bite. :) I'd love to hear from you!

Abbotsford Twin Baby and Newborn Photography | Avery & Emily sneak peek

A really quick sneak peek for Adria and Chris of their beautiful baby girls Emily (on the left) and Avery (on the right). Adria is feeling a little under the weather right now, and I hope that seeing this will help her to feel at least a little bit better. I’ll be back soon with more!

Port Coquitlam Family & Baby Session | Leina, CW, Brooke & Ayla

When Leina contacted me during my maternity leave for a session with her new baby, I didn’t realize that I had met her a few years earlier through scrapbooking. It was so nice to reconnect with her and meet her adorable little girls and her super nice hubby.  These two girls are so fun and cute, Ayla was 7 weeks old at the session, and Brooke was 21 months old.  They are both in a ‘busy’ stage, and they kept me on my toes (and their parents too!), but we had fun and managed to get some great images in the process. Thanks for a great morning!

Enjoy your sneak peek, I’ll be in touch soon with your slideshow and online ordering gallery.

Check out those blue eyes and how intently she’s looking at me.

(I bet she’s wondering what in the world that big black thing in front of my face is!)

Leina told me she loves green and is always wanting to paint her house in all shades of green…I think these pictures with one of my new backdrops will be perfect for display in their home:

Beautiful mama and daughter:

Brooke wasn’t too interested in the camera…but check out Ayla’s big grin, is that not super adorable?

Proud dad:

Gotcha! It took some doing, but I did manage to get a few shots of Brooke. I love her little pig-tails:

Aldergrove Newborn Photography | Jude, 2 weeks old

I’ve known Jude’s mom, Leanne for a very long time and we seem to like sharing birthdays. Our second children (my daughter Arden and her son Jesse) were born on the same day, and Jude happened to be born on my birthday. I know those are two birthdays I won’t forget (and I’ll fully admit I’m not the best at remembering birthdays!).

We did this session when he was exactly two weeks old. I usually recommend that a newborn session be done in the first 10 days as babies are usually still very sleepy and curled up at that point. After the 10 day mark they tend to become more alert and start wanting to stretch out, and Jude was no exception to this. But even with that, he did great! I knew a few tricks to settle him in, and we even managed to get some sleeping pictures too.

Thanks Leanne for bringing your adorable little guy by. It was so fun to hold and snuggle a brand new baby, especially as Hudson is not so little anymore…I’m hoping (and Tim is hoping even more!) that regular contact with newborns will keep my baby fever in check. :)

Here are a few favorites:

Isn’t she gorgeous? Seeing this shot is making me miss the cuddly/sleeping newborn on your chest, which is officially the best thing ever:
